According to the European Standard EN 10346:2015, the dimensions of
hot-dip galvanized zinc spangle can be divided into normal spangle
and minimized spangle.
The normal spangle is the size and shape of the zinc grains formed
after normal solidification of the zinc solution, while the spangle
without zinc (also known as the minimized spangle) is the size and
shape of the zinc grains obtained by special control of the zinc
solidification process. If the user wishes to specify the size of
the zinc flower, this should be negotiated at the time of ordering.
There are many factors that affect the size of the zinc flower.
When the composition of the zinc liquid has the conditions for the
formation of the zinc flower, the following factors have an effect
on the size of the zinc flower:
(1) Raw material: the thicker the raw steel plate, the smaller the
surface roughness, the larger the zinc flower.
(2) Cooling speed: the faster the cooling speed, the shorter the
crystal growth time, the smaller the zinc flower.
(3 ) The number of nuclei: the size of the zinc flower and the
number of zinc flower nuclei have a close relationship. When the
steel base surface roughness or poor surface cleanliness, the zinc
flower is relatively small. Zinc grain formation on the steel base,
the more nuclei, the smaller the zinc flower, small zinc flower

(4) Other factors (production environment, etc.)
Galvanized steel coil is used in a wide range of applications and
has the advantage of a long corrosion protection period. It is
mainly used as a building and substrate for household appliances,
office panels, roofing panels, automotive panels, and pre-painted
steel coils.
To use automotive steel sheet must first be stamped and formed, the
steel sheet is stamped into parts of the desired shape and size.
Spot welding is widely used in manufacturing, especially in the
automotive industry, as an important welding method for joining
thin plates.
The performance requirements of galvanized roofing sheets mainly
include the mechanical properties of the material (tensile
strength, yield strength, elongation), coating properties (coating
type, coating thickness and coating adhesion)

Including air conditioners, washing machines, refrigerators,
copiers, etc. Household galvanized sheets are mainly used for
general forming applications and stamping.
Another use for galvanized steel coils is as a substrate for
pre-painted steel coils. Pre-painted steel coils are more durable
than galvanized coils as they have a polyethylene coating.
